They say
Ephesians 2:8–9 — not of works. You added ordinances.
Keep reading. Ephesians 2:10: we are created for good works. James 2 says faith without works is dead — the only “faith alone” sentence in the Bible is James denying it. In the New Testament, faith means trust and loyalty, not agreeing with an idea. Their churches still baptize even when they say baptism does not save.
Ephesians 2:8–10
KJV · For by grace are ye saved through faith… Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.
NRSVUE · For by grace you have been saved through faith… not the result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works.
James 2:17, 24
KJV · Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. … Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
NRSVUE · So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead. … You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
